
Business Development Manager – India
The Business Development Manager will establish the Alpha brand in India. They will coach and guide the India sales partners efforts in increasing the sales volume in the country. The Business Development Manager will establish direct contact with major top retailers in the country in furtherance of increasing Alpha revenues. They will assist in the development of the country strategy and establish in developing new vertical markets.
Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
- Reporting directly to the Director of Sales – Asia in Singapore office.
- Hiring, training, motivating and managing the results of the sales partners
- Working with sales partners on annual sales plans and monthly/ quarterly initiatives
- Establishing direct contact with the top retailers in the region
- Making sales calls with sales partners to major retailers in the region
- Building and maintaining relations through the full client lifecycle
- Proactively identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Working closely together with the Product Marketing Managers to define and implement specific propositions
Languages:
- Sound knowledge of English and Hindi/Tamil languages – both written and verbal (and preferably one other Language, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Baluchi, Hindustani, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Malaylam, Kannada, Oriya, Assamese, Kashmiri, Rajasthani, Sanskrit)
Qualifications:
- University degree (or equivalent work experience)
- 5 – 10 years proven sales experience
- Proven successful India and South Asia sales track record
- Sound experience in managing India and South Asia dealer network
- Clear experience in selling solutions and/ or electronic article surveillance is an advantage
- Knowledge of EAS and/or Security Systems is an advantage
- Proven track record in approaching and selling to major Indian and international retailers
- Ability to working in a multicultural environment
- Experience in building long term profitable relationships with customers
- Strong presentation and excellent communication skills
- Strong (conceptual) sales skills
- Analytical thinking; able to translate strategy into concrete plans for action
- Ability to convince people
- Strong Computer Skills – MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint required.
